Just when you thought the celebrations of New Year were a distant memory, another New Year festivity is fast approaching. Mango Tree, Belgravia's fine-dining Thai restaurant will host a week-long Thai New Year Party from Sunday 10th to Sunday 17th April, 2011, to commemorate the occasion.
In addition, on Sunday 10th and Thursday 14th April, Mango Tree will hold a night of entertainment that includes a spectacular show of traditional dances, cooking demonstrations and a Thai fruit carving. Guests on the night will receive a complimentary Thai massage and there will be a DJ to keep diners dancing into the early hours.
Mango Tree has created a delicious three-course set menu priced at £40 per person, that comes with the fruity cocktail Mekhong Comfort, which includes Mekhong-Thai liqueur, fresh passion fruit juice, fresh lime juice and sugar syrup.
To begin the mouth-watering feast, starters include Larb Pla Dook, a grilled chopped pangasius fish salad with cherry tomatoes, dry rice powder, lemon grass and dry chilli and Tom Kha Look-Taw, a tasty and creamy coconut soup with palm fruit.
On offer for the mains, dishes include the tasty See-krong Moo Phad Khamin, stir-fried spare ribs with spicy turmeric curry paste and Hor Mok Mae-la, a curried fish custard that is steamed in banana leaf cups. To finish off the celebratory meal, the scruptious traditional Ruam Mit is available, which is a combination of tub tim krob, cantaloupe, green rice noodle, coconut milk and ice.
