Terms & Conditions (one-to-one Cookery Courses)
This information is mailed to all bookers. But please read it before you book.
What do we need from you?
Please ensure we have your full postal address, phone numbers and e-mail address(s). Remember to advise us if anything changes.
Where is it?
The course is held at our Curry Club office and kitchen in Haslemere, Surrey. We e-mail bookers route information a few days prior to their date. Please let us know roughly the direction you will be coming from.
Arrival
We ask you to arrive at 10am prompt please. Doors open at 0950 and we have a parking place on site. If you are likely to be late, (even a bit late) please phone 01428 658327, and providing you have advised us, we will do our best to fit your course into the time slot. If we do have to overrun to achieve this and we are available to do it, we will require an additional sum of £40 per hour (or part thereof). If you arrive a little early, doors open at 9.50. If you are very early, you are welcome to use our car park and walk to the Georgian Hotel on the High Street (turn left from West Street) for breakfasts (last order there 9am) and coffees, or there is a small greasy spoon cafe at the station. There are two coffee shops on the High Street: Darnleys and Costa Coffee.
What to bring
Just wear comfortable casual clothes. You’ll be on your feet, so trainers would be best.
Guests and Children
This is a one-to-one course, but you are entitled to bring one other person with you to this course. A child over the age of 11 would be acceptable providing he or she is really keen on cooking, but it is quite hard work for such a young age. If you wish to bring a child over 11 as your guest please advise us. We regret we have no faciltites for children to attend as non-participators over and above the one guest, nor for any children under the age of 11.
Takeaway
If you bring suitable takeaway containers, you are welcome to take away all the above food that you make during the session. The best containers are plastic lidded microwavable/ OK to dishwash long-life tubs (Tupperware-style) at around one litre size, and you’ll need eight of these. We do now stock these at £5 per set of four if you need them from us. It’s a good idea to a bring box (or chill bag/box) to hold them in to protect against spillage in the car!
Books and Equipment.
Talking of items for sale, previous guests have asked whether they can purchase items as used on the course. So “by popular demand” we offer for sale a wide selection of spice kits, and containers, and cooking and serving equipment as used on your course, Most of the recipes come from Pat’s books, and our booklist follows below, so that you know in advance what is available. Fell free to browse through everything (no obligation nor heavy sell) when your course ends. And we take credit and debit cards.

There are several good places to stay nearby at various price points. The list,is automatically sent to all bookers.
Cancellation Policy
29 days notice or more: If you have booked directly with us and want to cancel outright, we will make a refund on the credit or debit card account for which the booking was paid, if we are notified by 29 days prior by e-mail or land mail. We will make an administration fee of 20% for this. If you purchased your vouchers via an activity company and wish to cancel outright, you must deal with your voucher company about refunds, at least 29 days prior to the booking, and we will abide by their decision. We will need notification of your intentions by e-mail or land mail.
28 days notice or less: If you have booked directly with us we regret we cannot offer a refund.
Change of Date
If you need to change the date, deal directly with us, and providing we are notified with more than 48 hours notice, we will agree a new date with no admin charge.
Between 48 and 24 hours notice: we reserve the right to make an admin charge of £20, payable directly to The Curry Club by credit/debit card and we will agree a new date.
With less than 24 hours: ditto admin charge £40.
Notification on the day: we regret your entire fee will be non-returnable.
In the unlikely event that we have to ask you to change date, we will offer a small compensation in the form of goods, books, video etc.
Non Payment
If you book directly with us we require full payment when you book. If your booking is via an on-line activity/gift company, usually the first we know that you have booked a course with them is when you contact us. We can only invoice them at that point. Payment can take several weeks. In the unlikely event that the activity company concerned ceases to trade before we are paid, our contract with you is void. However, if you have paid by credit card, the money you paid is recoverable from the card company. Should you wish to pay us directly we will be happy to do the course with you.
Refunds
If your course was booked directly with us and paid by credit card we will make your refund via the credit card used. If your course was was booked directly with us paid by debit card, cheque or cash we will make your refund by cheque. If your course was booked with an events company you must deal with them re refunds. ______________________________________________________________________________
