Vouchers for our Cookery Courses

A cookery course is a great, affordable, unique present, and we issue a colouful personalised voucher and information pack for you to give the recipient(s) on the day of your choice (ie Christmas Day or Birthday / anniversary etc).

The voucher expires one year after the date you give it, For example if you give the voucher on Valentine's Day 2008, we will date its expiry date as 14 February 2009 (ditto for birthdays or anniversaries, etc). This gives the recipient plenty of date choices throughout the year. The info pack will tell the recipient(s) to phone me to redeem the voucher for the date of their choice.  Of course may you just wish to treat yourself.

If you have particular dishes you want to make, let us know in advance and we may be able to tailor-make part or all of the course to suit your requirements. We supply all ingredients and equipment.

Indian Cuisine - One-to-One (Starters)

Location: the Curry Club Haslemere, Surrey.
These courses are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays throughout the year.
Duration: 3 hours. Starts: 10:00am. Ends: c1pm.
Price: £300 
(for you plus your guest ~ You may wish to bring a third person. Space is tight but we can just fit a third person, £75 extra.)

Cook the most popular Indian starters, making enough to serve at least 6 people.

Popadums, Samosas (vegetable filling), Onion Bhajis (Pakoras), Sheek or Shami Kebabs or Koftas ~ choose from meat or chicken, Three types of Chicken Tikka (red, green and white), Chilli King Prawn, and Cucumber Raita. A full vegetarian option is also available with prior notice: Aloo Archar - pickled potato, Sweet Chestnut Brinjal and Paneer will replace meat, chicken and prawn. Clients wishing to take away all the above food can bring their own takewaway containers, or we can sell you good quality sets at £5 for 4 tubs.

Make four types of bread, plus seven chutneys with Pat Chapman. This course is fully vegetarian.
Unleavened bread: Chupatti and Paratha, Leavened bread: Plain Naan plus Peshawari or Garlic or Chilli Naan
Seven home-made chutneys: Spicy Tomato Chutney, Tandoori Mint Raita, Podina - coriander and mint, Coconut Sambol, Cachumber Salad, Carrot and Tamarind and Fresh Green Chilli Chutney. Guajolote Con Mole Poblano (Mexico) (Turkey with bitter chocolate and chilli sauce), Chilli-con-Carne from (USA) Texican style with kidney beans, Chile En Nogada (Mexico) Ramiro chilli stuffed with minced mashed sweet potato and & walnuts with a white sauce of soured cream & pomegranate seeds. Color Los Vegos (Chile) (Red and yellow coloured seasonal vegetables in a chilli sauce). Moros Y Cristianos (Cuba) (white rice, black beans and fried bacon).

The above dishes plus starters: Guacamole Aguates (Mexico) (avacado dip), Patata Dulce Rellenos Con Cangrejo (Peru) (sweet potato stuffed with shrimps, crab & sweet corn, topped with grated cheese and grilled). Rellenos (stuffed items), Heuvos Rancheros, the famous egg dish, Soured cream dip. Tomato, Apple and Onion Salsa with Schnapps, Green Pepper and Chilli Salsa with Tequila! And soft Tortilla beards. Dessert: Pina Cocoda (Mexico) (fresh pineapple chunks in coconut milk with vanilla. It's not Pina Colada (look again!) though you could serve it with this dish.

Party Special Cookery Course

Planning a dinner party?

Three course, four course, five course or six course sit-down dinner, or buffet-style. Whatever cuisine you wish to cook, Dominique and Pat Chapman show you the tricks of the trade which make it possible for you to enjoy the party with your guests, and not be tied to a panicky stove. We’ll show the right choice of dishes; a bit of stove-top management;

  • what to cook in advance and freeze if you want to;
  • when to thaw,
  • when to cook what;
  • timings on the day and how to avoid adverse smells on the day.
  • We’ll take you step-by-step, course by course, dish by dish.

We’ll cook the meal in real time with you, just as if you have guests tonight.
We can advise on your menu. It can be as many courses and as many diners as you wish, and whichever cuisine you fancy. (remember you take it all away)
Because there are so many variables, we’ll need to quote for it.
Vegetarian: Provision can be made for vegetarians (including vegans), and for those with allergies. (eg wheat, nuts, pork, red meat etc). Please advise when you book.
