Restaurant Review

Nayaab Restaurant

309, New Kings Road, Fulham, London. SW6 4RF

Wednesday 27th June, 2012

Nayaab opened its doors in 1981, by Mr Praveen Rai. He has decorated his restaurant simply and stylishly, and you will find Praveen, beautifully dressed in a Nehru suit, front of house, welcoming clients.  Nayaab serves authentic home-style Indian food and is concious of artificial colourings and low in fat. The menu is a balance of popular all time favourites and genuine, authentic dishes.

Pat and Dan started with a, 'Tandoori Mixed Sizzler - A selection of most tandoori meat dishes on the menu, (apart from seafood) served with naan bread, along with the main. Starter without naan £8.95. Main Course with a naan bread £16.95,' served with, 'Relishes - Kerala Coconut Chutney, Mango Chutney, Pickles, Mint Sauce, our very own Green Chutney, Tomato Chilli Sauce 75p (per tub), £3.00 (All 6 relishes).' Both pronounced everything delicious, especially the Lamb Chop.

After a short rest, Pat and Dan were served their main dishes - an enormous platter of Chicken Biryani Dum, with a generous bowl of, 'Kachumber - Diced onions, cucumber and tomatoes. £2.00' and a polished copper karahi of 'Peshawari Champen - Succulent lamb chops marinated in a tangy marinade of yoghurt and chilli garlic paste. Starter £4.95. Main Course £8.95,' and a shiny detchi of 'Barrahan Kadi Murg - Chicken Twelve Kadi - This unique blend of yoghurt-based yellow curry, "Kadi Sauce" is amorously enhanced by twelve seperate spices and herbs, subtly added at various stages of cooking. Breast of chicken stuffed with spiced mushrooms, simmered in the "Twelve Kadi Sauce". A temperamental delicacy! Spicy. £8.95,' served with a good bowl of, 'Raitha - Cucumber in refreshing yoghurt. £2.00.' Pat said that the Biryani was the star of the night. However, this authentic Biryani, cooked on the bone is not on the menu. This is because Chef, who has to manage his time carefully, as the restaurant seats fifty diners, will only cook it, if it has been pre-ordered. So, telephone him the day before and confirm your order of amazing Chicken Biryani Dum (or lamb, if you wish) with a deposit. You will not be disappointed!
