Dominique's Snaps - Mumbai Scenes

Left: Yes - you guessed it! McDonalds has reached India. Right: Are you thirsty? How about a (grubby) glass of freshly squeezed 'Sugar Cane?'

Left: An unusual traffic sign. Right: These 'sparkley' and delightful little triangular parcels are infact, 'Paan'. Sweet or savoury stuffing encased in a green leaf and then decorated with 'Vark' silver leaf.

Left and Right: These stalls are selling tea and snacks and do a roaring, passing trade!

Left: Hand-woven baskets of green bananas, shaded from the sun with a newspaper. The box of 'Bisleri,' is the Indian equivalent of, 'Volvic Mineral Water.' Right: This shop sells freshly squeezed fruit juice, just choose your fruit!

Left: 'Paan Stall.' Notice the beautifully wrapped conical shaped leaves. Right: Pat notices how beautiful they are and wonders if he should buy (Dominique likes the sweet ones!)

Left: Boxes of mangoes, melons and apples with baskets of bananas. Right: Hire a horse drawn carriage and see the sights of Mumbai.

Left: This man is selling, 'Street Food.' If you decided to buy, your meal will be wrapped in newspaper, which is rather reminiscent of our, 'Fish and Chips!'
