Dominique's Snaps - Delhi Scenes

 

           

Left: 'Mr Whippy' Indian style! Make mine a 99' with Chocolate Flake, 'Hundreds and Thousands  and Raspberry Sauce! Right: Ice-cold drinks for sale. I particularly like the 'Limca', tastes a bit like Schweppes Bitter Lemon.

      Left: Snake Charmer just don't get too close as the Cobra is real!

              

Right: Old Delhi: you will see many mobile stalls like this one, which is selling melons (note the scales on the left hand side of the cart). Left: Take a Rickshaw ride, (BT take note!) through Kinari Bazaar, the place to go for buying sari trimmings and tinsel and discover Paratha Alley.

Above: Driving to Delhi, we noticed this truck with a badly cracked windscreen. It could have shattered further at any time, but it didn't seem to matter to the drive or passenger.

             

Left: Paratha Alley, Old Delhi. You will see many of these cafes, serving hot and fresh Parathas, stuffed with many fillings, we ate ours with butternut squash. Be brave, sit down, ignore the grubby surroundings and enjoy! Right: Sad, I know! MacDonalds has reached Delhi. Apparently, Chicken Burgers are very popular. Pat and Dominique, however, prefer to eat the local fare.
