A cookery course is a great, affordable, unique present, and we issue a colouful personalised voucher and information pack for you to give the recipient(s) on the day of your choice (ie Christmas Day or Birthday / anniversary etc).
The voucher expires no less than one year after the date you give it, For example if you give the voucher on Easter Day 2008, we will date its expiry date as 31 March 2009 (ditto for birthdays or anniversaries, etc). This gives the recipient plenty of date choices throughout the year. The info pack will tell the recipient(s) to phone me to redeem the voucher for the date of their choice. Of course may you just wish to treat yourself.

Saturday Morning Curry
The only curry cooking course where you'll learn the Curryhouse secrets.
Pat Chapman runs the course. He has trained in classic authentic Indian cuisine and has also learned the well-kept secrets of the British curry houses having cooked in a number of them. This course shows you both methods of Indian cooking.
Location: Grayshott, Surrey.
Duration: 3 hours. Doors open 9.45am. Start: 10:00am. End: c1:00pm
Price: £70 per person.
Max group size: 18
Then we get down to it. In the next three hours, we’ll make and cook Garam Masala, and Curry and Tandoori spice mixes. Then Pat and Dom will show curry basics and they will make Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chana Chaat Curry and Pullao Rice. And for good measure we’ll make Chupatti and Tandoori Mint Raita. We make the course as interactive as we can. Pat will call for volunteers to help, for those that wish to get their hands on things.
And after your morning of curritensity, you’ll enjoy your tasting plate of all the items cooked.

Saturday Morning Thai Cooking
Thai Cooking in a small group.
Date: Saturday mornings, about every three months.
Location: Grashott, Hindhead near Haslemere, Surrey
Duration: 3 hours
Doors open: 9.45am
Starts: 10am
Ends: c1pm, includes a tasting-plate of all items cooked.
Max 18 persons
Price: £70 per person.
Note: If you order places for two or more persons, we will give you a voucher worth £5 per person to spend on goods at the course.
Join Pat Chapman, Celebrity Chef, author of the Thai Restaurant Cookbook and consultant / demonstrator for Blue Dragon, Britain's Thai ingredients brand-leader.
After a welcoming tea or coffee, you'll meet the authentic fresh herbs and ingredients which make Thai food so fragrant, and learn tricks, tips and kitchen secrets. Pat’s chef wife Dominique will show you some vegetable cutting techniques and she makes the green curry paste from scratch, while Pat demonstrate ways with noodles. They then cook delectable Thai dishes which will serve at least 6 people.
This consists of:
- Spicy Green Papaya Salad (Som Tum)
- Thai Green Chicken Curry (Khaeng Keo-wan Gai)
- Phuket Green Vegetables
- Bangkok Street Noodles (Pad Thai)
- Black and White Thai Rice
You’ll get a tasting plate of each dish. Course ends at around 1pm.

Indian Cuisine - One-to-One (5 dish Main Course)
Location: the Curry Club Haslemere, Surrey.
These courses are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays throughout the year.
Duration: 3 hours. Starts: 10:00am. Ends: c1pm
Price: £300 (for you plus your guest ~ You may wish to bring a third person. Space is tight but we can just fit a third person, £75 extra.)
For the person who wants personalised, hands-on instruction making an Indian main course.
Pat and his chef-wife Dominique will show you how.
The menu, which will serve at least 6 people will consist of Tikka Masala (Murgh Makhani), Chicken Jalfrezi, Oonbario – Roasted Vegetables, Tarka Dhal and Pullao Rice, cooked two ways.
Follow our suggested course or state what dishes you want, and budget and time permitting, we’ll do it with you.
A full vegetarian option is also available.

Indian Cuisine - One-to-One (Four Course Meal)
Location: the Curry Club Haslemere, Surrey.
These courses are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays throughout the year.
Duration: 5 hour course with lunch. Starts: 10:00am. Ends: c3pm
Price: £500 (for you plus your guest ~ You may wish to bring a third person. Space is tight but we can just fit a third person, £100 extra.)
For the person who wants personalised, hands-on instruction making a full Indian meal.
Pat and his chef-wife Dominique will show you how.
This course will enable you to cook a full Indian meal, which will serve at least 6 people. Please note:You can state what dishes you want, or follow our suggested course below, which can be divided into as many as six courses:
First Course: Chupattis and chutneys.
Second: Starters: Chana Chaat Salat and Vegetable Samosas.
Third: Classic lamb Korma also called Royal Shahi Korma, served alone.
Main Course: Chicken Tikka Masala (Murgh Makhani), Oonbario – Roasted Vegetables, Tarka Dhal and Pullao Rice cooked two ways.
You take away all of the Main Course.
Fifth Course: Shrikand, a light syllabub for dessert.
Sixth Course. Coffee and an Indian sweetmeat (this not demonstrated)
A full vegetarian option is also available.
The course ends with a light lunch of the Chana Chaat Salat and samosas, Tandoori Raita and chupattis which you've just cooked and Shrikand pudding.

Sushi - One-to-One
Duration: 3 hours. Start: 10:00am Ends:c1pm
Price: £300 (for you plus your guest ~ You may wish to bring a third person. Space is tight but we can just fit a third person, £75 extra.)
Sushi is today’s trendiest party food. So you can make your investment pay off next time you’re the host!In fact you will take home so much Sushi that you would be advised to hold a Sushi Party that night!!! On the Course you meet the special ingredients required, make sushi rice, cut the fish (sashimi), make accompanying dips and make several types of sushi:
- Nori-Zushi aka: Sushi Roll, Maki Sushi or the California Roll
Seaweed sheets rolled around the rice and suitable fillings.We show how to do round, square, and tear-drop shapes, and how to get different diameters of roll. Also how to garnish the finished sushi attractively. - Edomae-zushi or Nigiri-zushi - pieces of raw fish over vinegared rice balls.
- Temaki - or hand rolls hand-rolled cones made from nori,
- Tamago - Beef steak marinated in teriyaki sauce, cooked, cooled, thinly sliced, then spread with sushi rice etc and rolled in thin omelette.
- EITHER Uramaki Sushi – Inverted Sushi: ie with the rice outside, rolling with clingfilm and the mat and doused with roasted sesame seeds.
- OR
- Tazuna-sushi - This is again an inverted sushi (rice outside/clingfim technique). They are quite a large diameter and prawns, omelette, cucumber etc are pressed into the outside.
