The Curry Club’s Dominique and Pat Chapman return to The Georgian Hotel for the 2010 Haslemere Food Festival on Sunday 12th September with their entertaining and very popular Festival Curry Night. Watch an all-new curry cooking demo and slide show then enjoy a tasty curry dinner. Menu includes pops & chuts, curry starter and eat-as-much-as-you like main course. Booze available from the Georgian’s cash bar. Tables of 12. Singles, couples, groups or book a full table. All welcome including your older kids.
Nibble on Popadums and Dominique’s renowned home-made Indian Chutneys while watching the cooking demo and slideshow. For the demo Pat roasts and grinds spices and shows some of the unusual items used in Indian Cuisine. During this Dominique makes your starter Aloo Achar, Goan Prawn and Crab Curry and Brinjal Sweet Chestnut with side salad. Pat cooks rice and one of the main course dishes, Thoran, revealing some money-saving tips. The slideshow light-heartedly looks at India and her ingredients. The main course follows. Last year it was Murgh Nawabi a luxurious chicken dish swathed in cream, spices and nuts, Narial Gosht a savoury lamb dish cooked with coconut, Aloo Podimas potato cooked south Indian style, Thoran shredded vegetables lightly spiced in coconut milk and Lemon Rice basmati rice cooked by absorption with golden spices and cashew nuts. Heat level is mild to medium and for those who like it hot there is Madras Hot Sauce and for those cool cats, there’s Cool Tandoori Raita! Our 2010 main course menu will be different but along the same lines.
Please Note: Indian food contains nuts and dairy items. We can provide a vegetarian option, however, it will contain these items. Please notify us at time of booking.
There will be plenty of food and no one will go away hungry. Doors open 6.30pm. Demo starts 7pm. Dinner starts 7pm. Dinner 8pm. Georgian Hotel Cash Bar 6pm.
