Since 1984, the Good Curry Restaurant Guide has identified the UK’s Best Curry Restaurants. Sponsored once again by Cobra, the Guide has been copied and plagiarised, especially on the web. But like so many first-timers, it remains not only the brand-leader, but the one Guide where you get truthful, often very critical opinion. And it is now the only such Guide in print. Each edition is eagerly awaited (as an iconic collector’s piece) by its followers. They relish it for its honesty, accuracy, humour and entertainment value. They also welcome it because they can be a part of it, fulfiling the jacket’s strap line which states ‘Britain’s Best Restaurants As Chosen By You’.

The Guide’s main strength is that it is indeed compiled with the help of, and comments from hundreds of members of the public whose names are listed in full. The Guide’s introduction section contains, amongst other features, the much-read 2009 Award-Winners and Top 100 Lists, features and reader’s letters pages and an A - Z menu glossary. The main body of the Guide contains information on some 1,000 restaurants around the UK (selected from 9,000 contenders) with longer entries for the 500 best restaurants and simplified listings for less important, but none-the-less, deserving restaurants. London comes first, then England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in county order. Thumbnail maps and a town index help readers find their way around the Guide.

As usual there will be some Delisting and some New Entrants. Each restaurant is assessed for price, style and quality of food, service, vegetarian availability, BYO, home delivery service, etc. Many entries are enhanced with colour pictures restaurant interiors and exteriors and their food, pioneered to much acclaim in the previous edition.

Edited by Curry Club founder, Pat Chapman the Cobra Good Curry Restaurant Guide is regarded by media and the restaurants alike, as the definitive work of its kind.
